Our Frequently Asked Questions

It’s normal to have questions when it comes to caring for your pets. Have a look through these FAQs and if there’s still something you’d like to know about us or our services, get in touch.

St Fagans, Fairwater, Llandaf (incl North), Danescourt, Canton, Pontcanna, Wenvoe, Radyr, but please get in touch if you are outside these areas and we can have a chat to see what you need and if we can fit you in.
Mainly dogs (of all varieties, ages and abilities), but please get in touch if you require any cat services as I am happy to do a let out/feeding etc service.
Most walks are usually an hour, however this can be dependant on many things – ages and abilities of the dogs in the pack, weather etc. If it’s too hot and they are struggling walks will be shorter for obvious reasons. I do not want to over-walk a young or elderly dog and always have the best interests of the dogs in mind.
Yes.
Dogs are always walked in safe and friendly environments with minimal risk. Usually in large open fields or rural wooded areas away from any potential dangers (i.e roads).
The keys are all kept in a safe locked area with no addresses attached.
Dogs are not kept on the lead unless specifically requested by the owner. I like to create a bond with the dog from the beginning so that there is a trusting relationship between us. I assess every dog and how they behave with other dogs prior to letting them off the lead. I am a firm believer that a dog is happiest when it is free to enjoy all the smells and play naturally with other dogs/me.
Yes vaccinations need to be up to date, unless you have a certificate/note from the vet with Titer test results proving your dog has enough antibodies and does not need a booster. Happy to accept either.
Yes fully insured with Pet Plan Sanctuary for dog walking & boarding.
The dogs are with me all day, this is however discussed with the owner prior to booking as I usually do 3 walks (minimum) a day and therefore always have the best interest of the dogs in mind so some may prefer a little snooze whilst I pop out and do another walk.
Yes please. We always ask for you to provide your own food, as your dog is already in an unfamiliar surrounding, so keeping his/her routine as normal as possible is very important. It also avoids any tummy upsets with changing in diet.
As the dogs will tell you THE BEST! I only use 100% natural/raw treats, mainly made in Wales. Mostly use J R Pet Products (Llandovery) as they provide a great range of training treats from chicken, goat, salmon, venison, beef to ostrich and seabass. They also do natural worming products such as Venison and Rabbit ears (with hair). Green & Wilds (Chippenham) – a wide selection of excellent treats from salmon roll bakes, to sweet potato chews, raw coconut, cod sticks, mini buffalo bites.

My dog wasn’t in any rush to come home!

“My dog can be quite nervous but absolutely loves going out for walks with Nia, she’s only been to board once but for a couple of nights but didn’t seem to be in any rush to come home. Can’t recommend Natures Dog Walking & Boarding highly enough.”
